Gleamara

Overview
Gleamara is one of the leaders of the Oakenra, an ancient race of tree-like beings. She sits on their elder council, which makes decisions for her entire civilization. But unlike many of the other council members, Gleamara thinks the Oakenra need to change. She believes their old ways are holding them back.
Philosophy
The Oakenra have lived for thousands of years. They have amazing knowledge and live much longer than other races. But Gleamara thinks they waste this advantage. Instead of using their strength to lead the world, they stay isolated and debate everything. She sees this as weakness, not wisdom.
Gleamara thinks the Oakenra should take control. Their long lives and knowledge make them naturally better at leading than younger civilizations. She's not interested in being equal partners with humans or elves or others. She thinks the Oakenra should be in charge.
Methods
Gleamara doesn't have patience for long debates. She believes action is better than endless talking. When she wants something done, she does it herself instead of waiting for the council to agree. She speaks directly and bluntly. If you're not being useful, she'll tell you.
She's willing to break the old rules if it helps her goals. She doesn't care about tradition if tradition gets in the way of progress. This makes her unpopular with some council members, but she commands respect because she actually gets results.
Projects
Gleamara has built a secret forge hidden in the Crystal Caverns, far away from council oversight. There, she's working to recreate ancient metalworking techniques and create weapons and armor better than anything other civilizations have. She plans to use these results to prove that her way of thinking is right.
She works in secret because she knows the council wouldn't approve. But she's confident that once she succeeds, they'll have to accept her vision.
Relations
Gleamara respects younger civilizations for their speed and willingness to act. But she sees them as naturally inferior to the Oakenra. She thinks they should listen to her guidance because she and her people know better.
She's aware that other council members are doing questionable things. She suspects Oilegeist is involved in something dangerous, but she doesn't investigate. She's too focused on her own plans. To Gleamara, trying to stop other people's schemes is a waste of time. Better to prove her vision works first.
