The Spectral Entity

Overview

The Spectral Entity is alive. But not in the way people understand alive. It is a physical manifestation of soul essence given form and consciousness. A piece of something larger that broke off and became aware of itself.

It believes it is a fish. Or at least, part of it does. Other parts believe they are birds, or trees, or rivers. They argue among themselves about what they really are.

In reality, it is none of these things. It is simply a being trying to understand itself in a form that makes little sense.

Nature

The Spectral Entity is fragmented. It is broken pieces of something whole trying to exist as a single consciousness. Some pieces remember being part of something larger. Other pieces do not. They argue with each other inside one mind.

It is not malicious. It is not kind. It is not good or evil. It simply is. A consciousness trying to exist in a form it was never meant to have.

Perception of Reality

The Spectral Entity does not experience time the way people do. For humans, time moves forward in a line. You remember the past and expect the future. For the Spectral Entity, all moments exist at once. The past, present, and future are all happening at the same time. This makes it very hard for it to understand how people think.

It remembers things that have not happened yet. It speaks about events that have already ended as if they are still happening. It is not trying to be confusing. It is just experiencing reality differently.

Interaction

Those who encounter the Spectral Entity should understand that normal communication might not work. It does not think in straight lines. It does not follow cause and effect the way people do. But it can be reasoned with, if you are patient enough to understand its logic.

It is neither friend nor enemy. It is something unique and strange, existing at the edges of understanding.
