Giveaways

Giveaways let you give one of your items to the community. Players enter for free, and when the timer ends one entry is picked at random to win the item.

Giveaways are posted in the Tavern under the "Giveaways" tab.

How it works

• You pick an item and how long the giveaway runs.
• The item leaves your inventory as soon as the giveaway starts.
• Other players enter for free. Each character can enter once.
• When the timer ends, a random entry wins the item.
• The winner gets the item automatically.

This is the real item, not a copy. Once the giveaway starts, it is no longer yours.

How to create a giveaway

1. Open the Tavern and go to the "Giveaways" tab.
2. Press "Create Giveaway".
3. Press "Add Item" and choose the item you want to give away.
4. Choose how long the giveaway lasts.
5. Add a description if you want to. This is optional.
6. Press "Create Post" to check the details, then press "Create Giveaway".

WARNING

You cannot cancel a giveaway once it has started. Make sure you have picked the right item before you confirm.

What can be given away

You can give an item away if it is:

• Tradable.
• Worth more than 50,000 gold in estimated market value.
• Not sold by a merchant. Items from the Celestial Exchange are the exception and can be given away.
• Not wearing a skin.
• Not an item you have borrowed.

Each giveaway is for one item.

Who can create and enter

You cannot create or enter a giveaway if:

• Your account is trade locked.
• Your class cannot use the market, such as Banished or Cursed.
• You are on an alternative character below total level 150.
• Your account is flagged as high risk.

You also cannot enter a giveaway created by any character on your own account.

Giveaway length

A giveaway can last 1, 3, 5, 7, 10 or 14 days.

The timer starts as soon as the giveaway is created.

Cost

Giveaways are free for everyone.

• There is no fee to create a giveaway.
• There is no tax when the item is given away.
• Entering a giveaway costs nothing. You cannot add gold or items to an entry.

Entering a giveaway

1. Open the giveaway from the Tavern.
2. Press "Enter giveaway".

That is all. The giveaway shows "Entered" once you are in. You can see how many entries it has on the giveaway itself.

Every entry has the same chance of winning.

When the giveaway ends

Giveaways are processed every 5 minutes, so it can take a few minutes for the winner to be picked.

• A random entry is picked as the winner.
• The winner gets the item straight into their inventory.
• The winner and the owner both get a notification.

The winner must still be able to trade when the giveaway is processed. If they cannot, for example because they are trade locked, another entry is picked instead.

If there are no entries, or nobody who entered can receive the item, the item goes back to the owner.

The owner must also still be able to trade when the giveaway ends. If they cannot, the item goes back to them and no winner is picked.

Notes

• Only moderators can cancel a giveaway. If they do, the item goes back to its owner.
• You are not subscribed to your own giveaway, so you will not be notified about each new entry.
• A giveaway post cannot be deleted while it is running.
• Finished giveaways can be found under the "Ended" tab in the Tavern, along with the winner.
• Items you win can take you over your inventory limit. You will need to free up space before you can get more items.
