Meditation
Meditation is unique in IdleMMO. Unlike other skills that benefit you directly, Meditation is all about helping others. You sit in quiet contemplation and gain experience, then use that knowledge to create Guidance Scrolls that boost your fellow players.
How It Works
To meditate, simply press Start and begin. You’ll gain experience at a steady rate of 0.8 experience per second. It’s a passive, peaceful skill that requires nothing but your time and patience.
Guidance Scrolls
At level 35, you unlock the ability to create Guidance Scrolls. These are powerful items you give to other players to boost their progress temporarily. You earn 0.1 experience per second while writing scrolls, and each one takes 60 minutes to complete.
To write a scroll, you need a Blank Scroll. You can buy these from the vendor. The scroll’s power scales with your Meditation level, so higher-level meditators create stronger boosts. When someone uses your scroll, they get an instant boost that lasts 2 hours.
INFO
Guidance Scrolls can’t be used on yourself or your alts. This skill is designed specifically to help others progress, not to benefit you directly.
TIP
Trade-locked classes like Banished and Cursed can’t write scrolls. Trade-locked players in other classes can write scrolls but can’t send them.
You can only queue up as many scrolls as your idle time cap allows. For example, if your maximum idle time is 2 hours, you can’t queue 5 scrolls that would take 2.5 hours total. If you cancel a scroll mid-way, any unused blank scrolls are refunded, but scrolls already in progress are lost.
Scroll Bonuses
Your Guidance Scrolls provide exponential bonuses that scale from 1% at the lowest level to 15% at level 100. The strength of the bonus your scroll provides depends entirely on your Meditation level when you write it.
The table below shows at what Meditation levels you unlock each bonus tier:
| Bonus | Level (a) | Level (b) |
|---|---|---|
| 1% | 1 | 1 |
| 2% | 48 | 54 |
| 3% | 58 | 66 |
| 4% | 65 | 74 |
| 5% | 71 | 80 |
| 6% | 75 | 85 |
| 7% | 79 | 90 |
| 8% | 83 | 94 |
| 9% | 86 | 97 |
| 10% | 89 | 100 |
| 11% | 91 | — |
| 12% | 94 | — |
| 13% | 96 | — |
| 14% | 98 | — |
| 15% | 100 | — |
These bonuses come in two types. Type (a) bonuses increase experience gain, while type (b) bonuses increase magic find. Specifically:
Type (a) affects primary skills, combat, hunting, and guild mastery with 1% to 15% experience boosts. Type (b) affects battle, dungeon runs, and world boss encounters with magic find improvements. The bonuses follow an exponential curve, meaning improvements accelerate dramatically as you level up.
Enlightenment
Reaching level 100 grants you Enlightenment, a prestigious milestone that unlocks a cosmetic reward. Your character gains a subtle floating effect on your profile page, giving you an ethereal aura that reflects your spiritual achievement.
INFO
More cosmetic features for Enlightened players are being planned for the future.
Sound Effects
While meditating, you can choose from relaxing ambient sounds to enhance your experience. Available sounds include rain, snowfall, a crackling fireplace, and thunderstorm ambience.
INFO
Sound effects must be manually enabled due to browser limitations.
About Meditation
Meditation is fundamentally different from other skills. You’re not gathering resources for yourself or building personal power. Instead, you’re devoting time to help others progress faster. Progression is slow and requires months of dedication, meaning you’re making a real sacrifice by focusing here instead of other skills.
Reaching Enlightenment at level 100 is meant to be rare and meaningful. It represents patience, dedication, and genuine selflessness.
Scaling Formula
Your scrolls follow an exponential scaling formula. This means early level gains provide modest bonuses, but the effects accelerate dramatically as you approach level 100.
The formula normalizes your current level between 0 and 1, applies an exponential curve with an exponent of 3.5, then scales the result to between 1% and 15%. In practice, this means reaching level 100 unlocks significantly more powerful bonuses than reaching level 50 would, even though both represent the same number of levels gained.
Here’s the technical breakdown:
- Normalize the level:
normalized_level = (current_level - 1) / 99 - Apply the curve:
adjusted_value = normalized_level^3.5 - Scale to effect:
effect = 1 + (14 * adjusted_value)
The exponent of 3.5 ensures that improvements compound at higher levels, rewarding those who dedicate the most time to helping others.
