Sylari

Overview

Sylari has lived on the Isle of Whispers for over three hundred years. She chose to leave civilization centuries ago to study the world and understand how it really works. Now she lives surrounded by nature, studying ancient magic and the secrets of the floating isles.

She is patient and contemplative. She speaks rarely and only when she has something important to say. When she does speak, her words carry the weight of centuries. She is not careless with what she knows. She shares knowledge only with those patient enough to learn properly.

Nature

She exists in perfect harmony with nature. Plants grow well around her. Animals do not fear her. Water is calm in her presence. This is not power or control. It is simply being in accord with the natural world. After three centuries of living in harmony with the isle, she has become part of it.

Philosophy

Sylari has spent centuries trying to understand how the floating isles work. She has concluded they are not natural formations. They are machines. Ancient systems created by someone with knowledge that is now lost to time.

The isles are made of specific materials. Elemental earth essence, uranium that has its own power, and lovegrit, a substance that bonds magic and stone together perfectly. By studying these materials and how they work, Sylari is slowly reverse-engineering the isles. This work is long and patient. It will take more than one lifetime to finish. But she has time.

Lore

Sylari has warned many travelers about spending too long in the sky realms. She has seen what happens when people look at the sky creatures and divine beings for too long. They begin to forget they are human. They think differently. They perceive time strangely. Eventually, some of them simply forget who they were.

She watches these people with sadness. She understands what is happening to them. The divine is remaking them. But she cannot stop it. All she can do is warn others.
