Onroth

Onroth

Overview

Onroth is an Oakenra whose work is largely hidden from the council. He has built a vast network of spies across Valaron - observers in other civilizations, listeners in distant lands. Through this network, he gathers actionable intelligence. Secrets about other civilizations, and the knowledge of their strengths and weaknesses, understanding of their intentions.

He is not evil. His purpose is to advance the Oakenra as a people. He believes that knowledge of others - real, practical intelligence - gives the Oakenra an upper hand. Should conflict ever come, should threats emerge, the Oakenra will not be caught unprepared or uninformed.

Philosophy

Onroth believes the Oakenra must understand the world around them. Other civilizations plan and scheme. They develop strategies. The Oakenra cannot remain ignorant of these plans. Intelligence is protection. Intelligence is advantage.

He does not judge other civilizations. He simply observes them, learns from them, reports what he discovers. His work is quiet and methodical.

Nature

Onroth is clever and patient. He thinks several moves ahead. He speaks often in riddles, not to confuse but to teach. A riddle forces the mind to work. It reveals how people think. It separates the quick-minded from the slow. He respects those who can follow his meaning without explanation.

His network of spies spans across all civilizations. They report back to him. He organizes this intelligence and ensures the council understands what the Oakenra face in the wider world.

Others may not trust him. But few can argue with the value of what he brings them.
